About Clerkenwell Films
Clerkenwell Films is a multi-award winning film and television production company.
Formed in 1998 by chief executive Murray Ferguson and actor John Hannah, the company has gone on to establish itself as one of the leading producers in the UK, creating high quality, popular television for both UK and international audiences. Among its credits are award-winning, critically acclaimed shows such as Misfits, Afterlife and Persuasion.
Chief Executive and Director
A producer with over twenty five years’ experience, Murray set up Clerkenwell Films with John Hannah in 1998.
Since then Murray has either produced or exec-produced all of the company’s output and oversees the company’s strategy, activities and productions.
Since his break-through role in Four Weddings and a Funeral, actor John Hannah has enjoyed huge success in both the UK and US, starring in a string of successful movies and television series including: The Mummy (I,II and III), Sliding Doors, Rebus and Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
John is a non-executive director of the company.
Wim De Greef
Head of Production and Finance
Wim has worked widely across the film and television industry as a production accountant since 1997 and has been responsible for Clerkenwell Films’ corporate accounts since 1999, joining the company full time as Financial Controller in 2008.
Oliver has worked with Clerkenwell Films since May 2011 assisting with commercial and legal and business affairs issues. He previously worked in business affairs roles in television and film, online and computer game businesses in both production and broadcast, most recently with Disney and Sega.
Petra has been at Clerkenwell Films since 2000. Before joining the company she worked at Scottish Television, and BFI Productions. Petra was executive producer on all five series of Misfits, and more recently The Aliens.
Andy joined Clerkenwell Films in 2002 where he has developed and script exec’d Misfits, Afterlife, Persuasion and Quite Ugly One Morning.
Recently he developed and executive produced Lovesick and Not Safe For Work and is currently developing a number of new projects for the company.
Matt began his career at World Productions before joining Clerkenwell Films in 2006.
Matt was the Development Executive on all five series of Misfits. He is currently working as an executive producer on The Aliens.
Ed worked on a number of productions including the RSC’s Hamlet for BBC2 before making the transition into development at Origin Pictures. He joined Clerkenwell Films in March 2010.
He has since executive produced a pilot for Comedy Central, and developed and exec’d Lovesick and Not Safe For Work. He continues to develop projects across all genres on the slate.
Emily graduated from Sussex University in 2011 with a degree in American Studies, having specialised in literature. Since then she worked at post-production house The Edit & Sound Store and in production at Secret Cinema, before joining Clerkenwell in October 2013.
She is currently developing a number of projects for the company.
